On the contrary, Naram-Sîn himself leaves the report of his undertaking written, for the âfuture princeâ who shall read his inscribed stela:
You, whoever you are, be it governor or prince or anyone else, whom the gods will call to perform kingship. I made a tablet-box for you and inscribed a stela for you. In Kutha, in the Emeslam, in the cella of Nergal, I left (it) for you. Read this stele! Hearken unto the words of this stele! Be not bewildered! Be not confused! Be not afraid! [â¦] Wise scribes, let them declaim your inscription. You who have read my inscription and thus have gotten yourself out (of trouble), you who have blessed me, may a future (ruler) bless you!14
